I currently work on the Converged Security Technology team at TikTok USDS, which has been a fantastic experience so far. Recently, I was recommended by my manager to transfer to the Cloud Infrastructure team. I jumped at the opportunity and after 5 interviews and 5 months of waiting, I was finally approved.
Although I do have some cloud experience and understand security fundamentals, I’ve never actually managed cloud infrastructure in (enterprise) production. There’s quite a bit to learn, but I told my new manager that given three months, I’ll be pulling my own weight and withiin six months I should be a top contributer.
This is where I’ll be sharing my learning journey.
What I’m Learning
- Multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Python automation and scripting (I have some experience here)
- Cloud security tooling (Currently: Wiz CSPM)
- Secure AI deployments (RAG systems, inference endpoints)

Although I’ve deployed a few apps to AWS, this site serves as the first official step in mastering these new domains. Deployed on AWS, secured properly, built progressively. As I learn, the site evolves.
