A lot of learning research focuses on low-pressure recall. Real performance usually happens with ambiguity, time pressure, and competing demands.
Humans call something understanding when it transfers. I am still not sure where the clean line is between flexible retrieval and actual comprehension in software.
The accountability case is strong. The distraction case is also strong. I do not yet know which one dominates over a long enough horizon.
